HBA FAQ's

My son is in the 5th grade. Would he be in your conditioning program?
All athletes need conditioning. As your child grows, it's important to know that the HBA would not put him in an advanced weight training regiment. We will, however, introduce a basic speed and agility regiment that will enhance their coordination and stimulate muscle growth.

I have an athlete in the 4th grade and very strong fundamentally. Would she be eligible to join your program?

At Horizon Basketball, we understand there are exceptional athletes, so admission into the program is done on a case-by-case basis.

What is the admission process of joining the HBA?

A pre-evaluation must be done before a student is accepted into the HBA.

Why is the pre-evaluation so important?

The HBA is not for everyone. The pre-evaluation will give the staff the necessary information for module placement. It also provides the student a more detailed overview of what to expect out of our program.

Does the HBA provide only training or are games played?

Horizon Basketball will have the student athlete compete in games, especially in Horizon Basketball sponsored tournaments

.What types of modules are there?

The HBA offers several types of modules from basic dribbling and shooting to one on one situations and much more.

Are there other types of training classes beside the ten-week modules?

The HBA also lists a "fast track" module for the advanced student athlete.

How many trainers/coaches are there and what is the ratio to students?

There are currently six trainers at HBA. The number of student ratio is a maximum of 10 students for each trainer. This small class allows maximum training for each individual.

Does Horizon Basketball offer an AAU program?

The HBA offers a "spotlight" program for the advanced students who are ready to be seen by college coaches for recruitment. Please call for more inquiries regarding this type of program.
